Real Wedding | Prisana + Patrick | November 11, 2023
We had the joy of hosting Prisana & Patrick at our little white chapel on November 11, 2023. We are so thrilled to share all the beautiful, romantic and sweet details of their union. Enjoy!
The photos in the bridal suite were so beautiful. The lighting at that time of day created a shadowed silhouette effect that I truly loved so much. But honestly, every inch of that space photographed well.
We met on a cruise in 2014. We were strangers from different cities and I had made friends with his group of friends. Fast forward to me graduating college, I decided to move to the city because I wanted to live somewhere new. We started dating shortly after I moved.
We wanted our wedding to feel very intimate and warm, as if we were inviting a bunch of friends over for a get together.
We enjoyed getting to be with our wedding party. He got ready at a rented house by The Cliff House and I got ready at home, which was the best decision I could have made. I was comfortable in my own space and it also photographed well when I assigned one of my bridesmaids to take photos on disposable cameras. I could also make a homemade breakfast spread for the girls. Honestly, perfect.
What were your favorite moments/what do you remember most about your wedding day?
Getting ready and our ceremony. Getting ready for the reasons outlined above and our ceremony because it was just so darn emotional and beautiful. The size of the venue contributed to that feeling.
Tell me a little bit about what made the day special or memorable for you.
Quite frankly, it was being surrounded by our favorite people who were there to celebrate us as a couple and the relationship we’ve cultivated. That’s something that I don’t think will ever happen again.
We chose to forgo many traditional timeline features, such as a wedding cake/cake cutting, grand entrance, garter/bouquet toss. We also had our favorite “party” foods for the late night pass. I.E. instant coffee, mama tom yum ramen, shin ramen, and spam musubis. Bride’s signature drink was lychee Calpico, Sprite, and soju. It was so good. Also we, served Thai food and I loved the glass noodle salad.
Looking back, what words would you use to describe the day?
Intimate, full-of-love, emotional
Are there any vendors you felt were instrumental in making your day special?
ALL OF THEM. Jordan and Ryan (photo +video), Khoa from Jove Events, Tami and team for hair and make-up, Ashley from Weddings By Lavender, Bobaddiction for our boba truck during cocktail hour, Baon Foods for Spam Musubis. ALL OF THEM!
What did your guests have to say about the event? Any favorite anecdotes?
They loved the details they noticed I put in. For example, a guest specifically mentioned the mints I had put in the bathroom and the Liquid IV I purchased for the bar. I love that those things didn’t go unnoticed.
I danced for literally 3 hours straight. I barely left the dance floor.
Do you have any advice for future couples?
It’ll be worth it, I promise. On the day, you will realize why people have weddings.
